Visiting The Pub
What are your opening hours?
Bar: Monday–Wednesday 12pm–10pm, Thursday–Saturday 12pm–11pm, Sunday 12pm–9pm. Food: Lunch 12–2pm, Dinner 5–8:30pm (Monday–Saturday). Sunday carvery 12–4pm.
Do I need to book a table?
Booking is recommended, especially for dinner and Sunday carvery. Walk-ins are welcome but we can't always guarantee a table. Book online or call us on 01491 524064.
Can I bring my dog to the pub?
Yes — dogs are welcome throughout the pub, including the restaurant. We'll sort them out with a water bowl. Please keep them on a lead.
Is there a dress code?
No dress code. Come as you are — it's a village pub.
Do you have WiFi?
Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the pub and in all rooms. It's an open network — no password needed.
Can I just come for drinks?
Absolutely. The bar is open to everyone — you don't need to be dining. Local ales on tap, a serious gin collection, and single malts worth lingering over.
Food & Drink
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. Our menus include vegetarian and vegan options, and we can accommodate most allergies and dietary needs. Please let us know when booking or speak to your server.
How does Sunday carvery work?
Served 12–4pm every Sunday. Choose your meat at the carvery and help yourself to all the trimmings. All our meat is from Goring Village Butchers. Booking recommended.
Do you serve food all day?
Food is served at set times: Lunch 12–2pm and Dinner 5–8:30pm (Monday–Saturday). Sunday carvery 12–4pm.
Staying With Us
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 3pm, check-out by 11am. If you need to arrive earlier or leave later, give us a call and we'll do our best to help.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is available daily 8am–10:30am for guests. It's not always included in the room rate — check your booking or add it at check-in.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome in some rooms by prior arrangement. There's a £20 cleaning charge per stay. Please let us know when booking.
What's your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Cancellations within 48 hours may be charged.
Do you have parking?
We don't have our own car park, but there's free on-street parking nearby on Manor Road, Thames Road, and Cleeve Road (free up to 2 hours Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, unrestricted evenings and weekends). Wheel Orchard pay & display is a 2-minute walk.
Do you have a lift?
No — we're an 18th-century building and all rooms are on the first or second floor, accessed by stairs only. See our accessibility information for more details.
Getting Here
How do I get here by train?
Goring & Streatley station is a 7-minute walk. Direct trains from Reading (15 min), Oxford (25 min), and London Paddington (45 min).
Where can I park?
Free on-street parking on Manor Road, Thames Road, and Cleeve Road. Free up to 2 hours Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, unrestricted evenings and weekends. Wheel Orchard pay & display is a 2-minute walk. Blue Badge holders can park free at Wheel Orchard with no time limit.
Can I store my bike?
We don't have designated bike storage, but you're welcome to store bikes to the rear of the courtyard, secured to a railing through the gate towards the staff area. This area is covered by CCTV. Bike storage is at your own risk.
Private Hire & Events
Can I hire the pub for a private event?
Yes — we host birthdays, anniversaries, wakes, corporate events and more. Our restaurant seats up to 40, and with the courtyard we can accommodate up to 150 in summer. Find out more about private hire.
Do you do catering for events?
Yes. Cold buffet from £15/head, hot buffet from £17.50/head, carvery from £18.50/head. Bespoke menus available on request.
